More Progress....but No Baby

As of yesterday afternoon this is what was going on: I am dialated to 2 and 1/2 centimeters, and I am 80% effaced. While the doctor was checking me he said he was going to make me a "little uncomfortable" and he began to push kinda hard, but then he said "okay, I'm going to make you a little more uncomfortable and strip your membranes." Uncomfortable? My hell, that's an understatement. Only a male doctor would say that stripping something from the inside of your body is a "little uncomfortable."

Don't you love when male doctors say stupid stuff like that. This might be TMI but I had an internal sonagram for an ovarian cyst done by a male doctor, he said "don't worry, its just like using a super plus tampon" I felt like saying, hmm...whens the last time YOU have used a super plus tampon cause that thing doesn't look OR feel like a super plus tampon! ...grrr. I hope You have him soon! I vote today! Good luck!

Ouch!! I remember being so excited when my doc said he would strip my membranes. And then he did it. I was not excited after that! It hurts so bad and I was so sore for a couple days. But I guess if it makes the baby come faster, it's well worth it.

Oh, Congrats on the 2 and 1/2 cm!! That's really good progress. Hopefully it will make your labor a lot shorter.

Oh I know what you mean by that. That is why I struggled with having a girl or a guy OB. You never know which way is best?! She might be so sensitive because she knows what its like or she might be like hey I can do it toughin up! Or like you said a man who doesn't car and think he knows or has HUGE HANDS! Or a guy who is just sensitive and just right. I had no chioce in my Doc kinda. I just fell into him at the ER and we really just clicked. But here is hoping it happens soon. My guess. 2-3 more days. :)

okay...based on erin's last comment I have a feeling that you are a MOMMY! that is so awesome and I can't wait to see and hear all about it...

that ripping out your membranes doesn't sound like a very fun process...like at all. What a champ you are. I probably would have reached up and smacked my doctor...okay probably not. i'm just a big talker.

can't wait for an update!!! I'm sure you've got plenty of other things to worry about at the moment though. YEAH!
